Many people assume that space heaters are all alike, you just plug them into the wall, turn them on, and heat begins to come out of it. Although they do all generate heat some of the different types of space heaters include convection, radiant, conductive, ceramic, electric, gas and more. Each of these types of heaters works and generates heat in various ways but all produce the same result. Many have a heating element inside such as coils, plates, tubes and other objects inside that heat up. Then usually some type of fan is put inplace to pump the warm air out into a room and keep it coming which in time will raise the temperature of an entire room. Heaters make a great addition toa heating and cooling system as you can run a space heater in the room you are in and keep the rest of the house at a cooler temperature saving money. Ceramic heaters generate heat by passing electricity through heating wires that are inside ceramic plates. Here the plates heat up the aluminum baffles inside and a fan blowing across the baffles creates heat. These heaters are commonly portable and used to heat small spaces. For those of us that donot have heated garage systems, the ceramic heater is a perfect solution toheat a garage occasionally, although I would not recommend it be used for someone who wants their garage heated every day as a more permanent system should then be installed. A ceramic garage heater will heat a standard two stall garage nicely on those cooler days. By running it in the garage for a while it will heat it up making a comfortable climate to do some work in. With this system one is not committed to keeping the heater in the garageper manently. They can also use the heater indoors and any place they take it that has access to electricity.
